Likindoy
Likindoy (Likindoy Opensource Scada Website) is software that we are actually most proud of. Its modular construction makes it compatible with almost all kinds of measuring hardware. It is able to process almost any kind of input data no matter if it is network transfer statistics, weather measures or efficency of water pomp engines. This project tries to make a complete SCADA System build with free technologies (check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCADA for more information about Scada, check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_software for further information about Free Software).
Likindoy is totally built with Open Source technologies:
- The operating system is Linux
- The language programming is Python
- The database manager is MySQL
- For plotting graphs we use the programing language R, sucesor of S language and thought to be used esentially in statistics and plotting graphs.
Inside the meaning of SCADA in wikipedia, we focus on indicators without inside feedback (that don't affect to the process, only to the operator). That means, when getting data, showins historics and showing realtime values.
Inside:
Likindoy is a program designed for industrial analisys and telecontrol systems. It has been designed in modules to allow other programmers to extend the funcionalities easily. Likindoy is divided into some working stages but interanlly is divided in three basic modules: the modules of libraries that it is shared by the rest of modules, the module for managing historics (Likindoy-HTR) and the module for managing RTUs (Likindoy-RTU).
Likindoy-HTR
The module for handeling historics has 4 procesing data levels.
1) Get data:
The program use diferents modules to get information from out sources. (FTP, SFTP, SOCKECT, /PROC, MODBUS, WEB, UDP)
2) Load data:
It takes the downloaded data and store it using the same format into a SQL bases server (optionally it could use some other output module, including a program that would be able to read morse code throught the speakers).
3) Plot data:
Use the stored data in the database to plot graphs. The engine to plot data is using the library RPy (Python librarie to comunicate with the statistical language R) and nowaday exists a proposition for designing a new module to plot data throught Python without using R engine.
4) Send data:
Send the graphs usually by email, but supports also FTP, SFTP and SOCKET (user can design a new module for sending data throught them own protocols).
Likindoy-RTU
It is the module of Likindoy able to get data straight from industrial hardware, like for example: PLCs Schneider Momentum or data adquisition systems ADAM 5000 TCP, but the comunication language is MODBUS over TCP/IP and this allows it to comunicate with almost every industrial PLC. This module is also than getting data can work like a RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) (Telecontrol hardware), so it make possible to download from data from it throught FTP, SFTP or SOCKET. Likindoy-HTR usuarlly asks to the RTU (that is using Likindoy-RTU) about the data that it needs, Likindoy-RTU allos then to Likindoy-HTR to download this data and when it is done it deletes from RTU to free memory. The newer versions of Likindoy allow also to make decisions and send it to the managed Hardware.
Likindoy-HMI
It means Human Machine Interface and it is the module of Likindoy able to show data on realtime. This is a group of functions and behaviors that allow to Likindoy to show on real time the information that it is processing. This information is possible to get it connected to a map of the factory for cleaning watther and watch every element changing on realtime throught a website from home. The posibilities are in the limits that the programmer will find with itself to develop the new modules or tools.

Facing the future:
Nowaday we are developing a new systemd C-based that will be part of Likindoy and it will be possible to get installed into data adquisition systems ADAM 5010 to convert them to become Likindoy's RTUs with the ability to take decisions on realtime and store historics in its internal memory.
Finally:
Likindoy has been designed to support any kind of modules desgined by the users, thanks to it, nowaday Likindoy-RTU can register network traffic from the net data taken from the filesystem /proc, can get data files throught FTP and SFTP protocols or directly from a WEB server, MODBUS server or throught UDP protocol.
Likindoy has been tested from the end of year 2005 till today by Aguas y Saneamientos de la Axarquía (company that cleans normal and residual water in the coast of Málaga in Spain), nowaday is processing data from more than 30 diferent sources from Axaragua (including Telecontrol Hardware, data adquisition systems and servers) and make graphs daily from all data that are sent later by email to the operators of the diferents stations.
Likindoy is being developed actively by Centrologic Computational Logistic Center and by Aguas y Saneamientos de la Axarquía also both companies contribute actively in this project like main investors of ideas, solutions and unique economic investors nowaday.
