Advanced computation:
When you are working with systems for massive computation, usually it is necesary to have 100% availability of systems. For example, in neural networks simulations using neuron model nearly identical to natural one (not the mathematic-compuational model of neuron but a far more complex model), the systems was using 14 computers working full time for a time between 12 and 16 days. We can provide such avaliabilty.
Computational clusters:
Centrologic is also researching economical systems for advanced computing. The advantage of this systems is not the speed like computation power, but posibility to split the task in many. For that purpose it is necesary to build programs that are able to paralelize the problem.
Service clusters:
Sometimes the need to use a cluster is connected with high server load caused by million of users accessing to the system. For that purpose we use clusters for services, this is many computers offering the same service and synchronized between each other. For example web servers that support million of clients in just one second that normal server wouldn't be able to handle alone.
High availability:
High Availability is considered a feature of a system to answer its responsabilities even during a break down. For example if a hard disk gets broken the system will keep working without any problem, or if the network card is broken a similar server will keep working like nothing happened, same data will be still available.
Security:
The security of a system is a pending task in most of the companies. We keep researching in this area continuosly because it is changing all the time: virus, troyans, cryptography, operating system errors, bugs that compromise the security, weak passwords, missconfigured firewalls, old protocols and missing security policy.
Our target in this point is to keep our knowledge updated to ensure it doesn't break any level of security during our work. Some programs have been created with this researching path: Controlred, TBFirewall and the most important security part of Sepia.
Networking:
Comunications is a very important area for us because it is the main path we work throught. Reasearching in the diferent systems of physical networks enables us to offer services based on optic fiber and wireless networks. In other researching paths we made transparent for companies the network and tele assistance like a main tool for the daily work.
